The Concerned Group for Republican Prisoners was founded in September
2005 at the request of a group of Republican Prisoners on E4 Landing Portlaoise
who found themselves unaligned and abandoned. Its has grown throughout and
Ireland and abroad.
We will aid any prisoners incarcerated for political
activity against the British Occupation and will not forget nor abandon our
prisoners.
You can join by going to
http://www.cgrp.info/membership.htm and contacting the appropriate
coordinator.
We are an anti-treaty group,
Any recognition of the partition of
Ireland and the shoring up of the British administration by British puppets
cannot be legitimized in any fashion. also
we feel it strengthens Britain’s illegal claim in the 6 counties, it cements
partition of Ireland, it dilutes Republicanism, it enhances Sectarianism
strengthens the religious divide. and finally because it's no better then the
treaty in 1921.
We will work with any genuine group in
order to further aide POWs, and assist in the highlighting of campaigns
through public awareness, and through the media of the internet.
The CGRP view the holding of
Commemorations for Irelands Patriot dead as a natural progression from our
duties of being a prisoners support group, The two are forever linked together
in the history of Irish Republicanism and we will never forget the sacrifice and
commitment of those that have given up their freedom or their lives. Whilst
others will endeavor to rewrite history , we will never Forget and will ensure
they are remembered with honour and with pride.
Become involved in Republican activity in your area,
You could pass out fliers, donate money,
even if its only a few Euro. Contact

for literature and assistance. You can also purchase CGRP
merchandise and crafts available from this site.
Our position on other Republican Prisoners is that we recognise all prisoners
who have given up their freedom for us through Republican activity as Political
Prisoners and they and their families deserve the support of all Republicans
while they are incarcerated in Ireland and abroad. We will work with any group
to highlight the plight of these brave people.
